Floridians to demand legislative action on toxic algae at 10 events on Monday

** ADVISORY **

10 SIMULTANEOUS PRESS EVENTS MONDAY 4/15

Communities Across Florida to Decry Legislature’s Moves To Keep
Toxic Tides and Green Slime on Steady Diet of Sewage and Fertilizer

WHO: Concerned citizens, waterfront businesses, public health and environmental advocates.

WHEN:  Monday, April 15, 2013 at 10:00 am in all locations except West Palm Beach (9:30 am)

WHAT: A diverse group of individuals and organizations will bring victims of Florida’s water quality crisis together to challenge HB 7115 and SB 1808 – the bills now sprinting toward passage that would leave Florida’s waters, and the people who live along them, without protection against toxic algae outbreaks. Letters/photos will be delivered to legislators after the press conferences.

WHERE: Ten communities at risk from toxic algae fueled by nutrient (nitrogen and phosphorous) pollution: Orlando, Merritt Island, Sarasota, St. Petersburg, Jacksonville, Ft. Myers, Palm City, Gainesville, Ocala, and West Palm Beach.

*There will be protesters and visuals*

Fantastic blog! Do you have any recommendations
for aspiring writers? I'm hoping to start my own site soon but I'm a
little lost on everything. Would you suggest starting with a free platform like Wordpress or go
for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I'm totally confused .. Any recommendations? Kudos!
